Cast Iron and Cocktails

Cast Iron and Cocktails is a lot of things, but two are our focus:

1. Sharing food and drink recipes, both non-alcoholic and alcoholic, and their stories (more on that below).
2. Providing private bartending services, education, and classes around both food and drinks (to find out more, reach out via our Contact Section or Social Media).

Cast Iron and Cocktails started with the idea that, when it comes to a recipe site, the recipes should come first. Yeah, the story is important, and oftentimes the history of how or why a drink or dish came to be can be quite interesting, but you didn’t come here for that. You came because you wanted a straightforward, no-nonsense recipe that is tested, works, and doesn't have all the fluff that other sites might have.

With all that in mind, we follow a simple format for all our recipes with 3 ideas at the center:

1. "The food comes first. Always!" Whenever you look up one of our recipes on here, you will be greeted with an actual photo of the dish or drink in question. No filters, no crazy editing, and no wild plating. It’s something that you can recreate in your own kitchen. Then you get the recipe, in a simple format that walks you through step-by-step what you need to recreate what you just saw.
2. "Come for the food, stay for the story!" While the recipe is the main draw, we do hope you stay for the story, as we put a lot of effort into keeping them not only interesting, but also short, sweet, and to the point. Our goal is to hit the most interesting points of the story in a really easy-to-digest format. Think short 2-3 minute reads, maybe 5 if it’s a really good one.
3. "We pay homage to the originals, but we don’t stop creating!" We love the classics, like a Mississippi Pot Roast, but also like to put our own spin on them, like with our Green Bean Casserole, and then there are our C&C Originals, like the Fools & Sages.
