Created by Joaquín Simó while working at Death & Co. in New York, this cocktail has been described as the “bastard love child” of the Last Word and the Paper Plane. Simó’s original version calls for lime juice, but I genuinely think lemon’s brighter tartness gives the drink just a little something extra.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 oz Lemon Juice(Or lime juice for the original version)
- 3/4 oz Aperol
- 3/4 oz Mezcal
- 3/4 oz Yellow Chartreuse
Build:
- Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice.
- Shake well to chill.
- Double strain into a chilled coupe, martini, Nick & Nora, or other appropriate glassware.
- Garnish with a lemon or lime twist.
- Enjoy!
